Tim teaches both individual students and group workshops, for both Irish whistle and bodhrán.

Beginners learn the basics (how to hold the instrument, breathing technique, basic fingering, etc), learn how to learn tunes and play by ear. More advanced players delve more deeply into studies of rhythm, advanced breathing techniques, ornamentation and expression.

Each student's instruction is tailored to the needs of the individual student.

Tim has brought his method and theories to such settings as the San Francisco and Berkeley Free Folk Festivals and the Lark in the Morning Summer Music Celebration.
